Chapter 12: A Last Night of "Rest"

Dusk finally gave way to night. In the darkness, the Addams Mansion felt more alive than ever to Enid's wolfish senses. Like a nocturnal creature awakening from its slumber.

Eudora Addams had disappeared into the depths of the mansion, carrying with her the vials of the Shadow Hyde's ectoplasm, ready to begin preparations for the next phase of the plan. With Grandmama concentrating on her magic, Wednesday and Enid gave the twins a tour of the various nooks and crannies of the house after a light dinner in the kitchen.

For Theo and Dora it was an exercise in constant comparison with the version of the place they knew from their childhood a universe away. Which rooms were the same or virtually identical, which ones changed significantly, which portraits of relatives they recognized and which ones were real strangers, etc.

All this combined with exchanges of anecdotes and curiosities, of course! How Wednesday in her childhood had turned the kitchen into a makeshift alchemy lab to test different poisons on Pugsley. How Theo had tied Dora to the lightning rod at the top of the tower to test whether lycanthropes were better conductors of electricity than an average human. How Dora responded to said experiment by turning her brother into part of a makeshift dartboard of a blind dart game (with the darts being throwing axes, but that was an unimportant detail).

Enid smiled and even laughed at some of the stories. A tiny part of her was perfectly aware that a couple of years ago she would have been horrified to hear them. But the Enid of today knew the Addamses and was in the process of being one of them after all.

Who was she to judge what was wholesome fun for the family?

Finally, it was time to retire for the night. Grandmama had guessed correctly that the twins would prefer separate rooms. Two bedrooms were ready for them on the second floor, in the same hallway where Wednesday's and Pugsley's rooms were located.

Two rooms that Enid was sure were not there on her last visit to the mansion, one of the many quirks of the place to accommodate those who resided within its decaying yet majestic walls, temporarily or otherwise. They were not very large rooms, clearly intended for a short stay of a night or two. Windows overlooking the greenhouse through which the pale light of the crescent moon entered, and single beds on whose mattresses one could sink as if they were quicksand.

Wishing the twins a good night (well, Enid wished them a good night, Wednesday a horrible one), Wednesday and Enid retired to the former's room. Since her first visit to the Addams Mansion, Enid had spent her nights in her paramour's room. Wednesday had asked the she-wolf on many occasions if she would not wish for a space unique and exclusive to her, but Enid had insisted.

"Perhaps in the future I might like to have some spot all to myself," she said then, "But right now my place is wherever you are."

The room was large, spacious and dark. From the front door, a large window covered by black curtains was the first thing that attracted the eye. To the left was a large desk covered with books, old notes, papers, writing and drawing materials. The wall above the desk had a couple of shelves filled with more volumes, jars with unclassifiable contents, stuffed animals (mostly squirrels and rats) and small pots with the corpses of dead plants.

There was also on this side of the room the door to an adjacent bathroom. An addition to the room done by the Mansion itself when Wednesday's irritability at having to share the hallway bathroom with Pugsley began to reach homicidal levels.

Across the room was the bed and next to it a small bedside table, a bookshelf full of books that reached to the ceiling and a huge, imposing looking closet.

The wall was decorated with white, black and gray geometric shapes. Hanging on it were pictures with undoubtedly sinister scenes, posters of internal human anatomy, an old dart board with daggers stuck in it, and a full-length mirror next to the closet. The floor was of the same dark wood that dominated the rest of the mansion, covered by a carpet in its center of a gray color that appeared to have been crafted from the fur of an unidentified creature (in reality, it was made by the fur donated voluntarily by a former relative of the Itt Family a few generations ago).

Yes, the room was undeniably Wednesday's. Like a magnified version of her dorm side at Nevermore.

And even with that in mind, a careful eye could notice the small discrepancies that betrayed the occasional presence of someone much more colorful in the place.

Alongside the volumes of obscure Addams literature on the shelves were others with more colorful spines, lively-covered notebooks and music magazines. On the desk, next to the record player, the old vinyls of classical music and traditional spanish and latin american artist of Wednesday were accompanied by collector's vinyls, limited editions of various contemporary pop artists. There was also a small CD player and half a dozen imported music albums of K-Pop bands. Enid still used mostly digital platforms to listen to music, but had begun to develop an affinity for the old physical media and collecting them a couple of years ago.

The bed featured a dark comforter and plain white sheets, but there was an extra blanket in shades of orange, pink and purple neatly folded over it. Between the dark cushions covering the pillow rested an adorable Cthulhu plush toy in a vibrant green color.

And if one were to look inside the closet, next to Wednesday's various dreary garments, one might find some much more colorful pieces of clothing that few would expect to find in such a place.

Little glimpses of Enid had been appearing with each visit. Wednesday expected that with a more permanent residence in the mansion, the room would eventually become an amalgam of both of their sensibilities.

The luggage of both had been deposited by Lurch and Thing by the entrance of the room. There was no sign of the living hand, probably reacquainting himself with the gaps between the walls, and Lurch had surely already retired to his quarters on the first floor. The girls decided to leave the luggage unpacked, aware that there would be little point.

Preparing for the bedtime, Enid had opted to take a shower before going to bed ("I still have gunk from that thing on my nails"). Wednesday for her part began her own preparations. Listening to the sound of falling water and Enid's voice singing in the shower, Wednesday found herself sitting on her bed, barefoot and dressed only in a long black nightgown, undoing her braids and letting her long, wavy hair fall over her shoulders.

She was just finishing up when the bathroom door opened and Enid entered the room wrapped in a towel, walking straight to the closet. Wednesday's attention immediately focused on the lycanthrope without any subtlety. Enid walked past her throwing a smile and winking at her paramour. Wednesday's face remained unperturbed, but the way her pupils dilated and the almost imperceptible blush that formed on her cheeks gave away the opposite.

Enid laughed softly as she opened the closet door, grabbing a two-piece set of pajamas in a light pink color. The she-wolf dropped the towel at her feet before getting dressed and tried to contain her smile as she listened behind her as Wednesday inhaled loudly.

"Enjoying the view, Weds?" asked the werewolf.

"Intensely," replied the Addams.

Enid turned, finishing buttoning her pajama top. She plopped down on the bed, sitting down next to Wednesday and taking one of her hands. Enid looked at her girlfriend for a few moments, as if trying to memorize her face. Her smile softened as Wednesday returned her gaze.

"Nervous?" asked Enid.

"Expectant, more like," Wednesday said.

"That's a fancy way of saying you're nervous," replied the lycanthrope.

"Mmm, maybe," said Wednesday, "If I know Grandmama as well as I know her she's going to spend all night working with the samples I provided. We'll probably already have to tackle the next phase of our current challenge tomorrow."

"Find Friday, reunite her with the twins and settle the score with the one responsible for all this," Enid said, "And finish off that thing that tried to capture you if it tries again," she added, letting out a possessive growl as she let her head rest on Wednesday's shoulder.

"I'm afraid you make it sound simpler than it is, mia lupa."

"The what is simple, it's the how that's going to be complicated," Enid said, "But whatever happens starting tomorrow, we'll face it together."

Wednesday turned, stroking Enid's face gently, delicately tracing the lines of the scars with her fingertips, something that made the she-wolf quiver with a pleasant shiver.

"La mia lupa feroce," Wednesday whispered, just before claiming Enid's lips with her own in an intense kiss. The she-wolf was not far behind, responding with the same intensity and taking Wednesday into her strong arms as she dropped onto the mattress with the Addams on top of her.

Soon the Addams' lips began to move from repeatedly kissing the lycanthrope's mouth to her chin, from there to her throat and then her neck, finally reaching where the skin was covered by the pajamas.

Enid sighed, stretching languidly, "Weds...," she said, her breath coming in ragged gasps, "Not that I'm complaining, but I must remind you that just a couple of rooms away are our children from another universe..."

Wednesday paused, rising slightly to stand face to face with Enid again. A smile on her lips that reminded the she-wolf of a contented cat about to snack on unsuspecting prey.

"And I remind you, mia lupa, that every room in this house is completely soundproofed."

"Oh, yes, how could I forget that? Because of your parents and...", started Enid.

Wednesday interrupted her with another kiss. Enid lost track of reality for a few moments, with all her senses focused on the young woman above her and her scent permeating everything. When they broke apart to catch their breath again, the she-wolf's eyes had a golden gleam in them and her fangs peeked out from under her reddened lips.

Wednesday smiled at the sight before her and leaned in, whispering in Enid's ear.

"Devour me."

This time it was Enid who smiled. A smile that made Wednesday shiver with anticipation. The lycanthrope grabbed the Addams with her hands and the two rolled on the bed, now with Enid on top of her. Her multicolored claws reached out, caressing Wednesday's cheeks and neck and slowly descending until...

"Weds...," whispered Enid.

"Yes?"

"Are you very fond of this nightgown?"

Wednesday pinned a defiant gaze on the she-wolf, "I told you to devour me, didn't I?"

A low, guttural growl erupted from Enid. The werewolf shredded the garment of clothing with her claws in a single motion fully exposing her beloved, as she descended upon her, landing her lips on Wednesday's bare shoulder before biting down on it. The Addams smiled, barely containing a moan and hugged Enid's head, pulling the she-wolf closer to herself.

The rest of the night was a whirlwind of the most deliciously unholy sensations. Neither of them held back, and exhaustion didn't catch up with the lovers until several hours later, when the faint light of the sun began to peek over the horizon.

Meanwhile, a couple of rooms away, despite the effective soundproofing Dora and Theo found themselves in their respective rooms lying on their backs, staring at the ceiling with a slight frown and simultaneously sharing the same veeeery awkward thought.

They're totally doing it right now.

It doesn't matter if they're from another universe, sometimes offspring have a sixth sense for these things. Doubly so when they're Addamses.

NOTES

Things get slightly steamy in this chapter 👀

One last relaxing bit before the main adventure is about to begin, with the girls having a moment for themselves. I don't feel confident writing explicit smut anytime soon, but I think I'm starting to get good at writing the prelude for explicit smut and then leaving it up to your horny little heads to figure out the rest 😈

Translations:

la mia lupa feroce (italian): my ferocius she-wolf.
